DOGUE DE BORDEAUX - - Brandy's LITTER

The Dogue de Bordeaux is one of the oldest French breeds. In the middle of the 19th century they were used to hunt large animals such as boar and to guard homes and cattle. The breed narrowly missed extinction during the two world wars but enjoyed a resurgence in the 1960's. Sometime in the early 1980's, the first Dogue de Bordeaux was imprted to the United States. This breed is a well-balanced, massive, powerfully-built dog with a very muscular body and a short coat. The Dogue is somewhat low in stature with a huge head, furrowed by wrinkles, topped with small, pendant ears. They are know for their balanced temperament and imposing presence. They are EXTREMELY affectionate and tremendously sweet. The breed is used today almost exclusively as a family companion and house guardian. Adult males usually weigh about 110 pounds and the females 100 pounds.

Brandy and Macho's litter was born 8/5/08. We are certainly enjoying seeing them grow! They gain weight EVERY day...

As you can see, Macho has a beautiful LARGE head and I think these puppies are going to have a very nice profile and I KNOW they are going to have wonderful personalities! We do not own Macho; he came and stayed with us while our females were being bred. He just treated us like family from the very beginning and was a great guy to have around. We have 4 females and they "help" us when we work outside. I don't know how much actual help they are tho - they steal everything we have to work with or they lay on your feet commanding some quality time! We have cattle and our dogs are right with the cattle and they have never ever bothered the cows - unlike the yorkies who want to chase cows and REALLY have some fun!

Brandy and Macho are both red coated with a red mask - my favorite Bordeaux colors! Most of these puppies have a bit of white on their chest. Macho and his brother weigh 120-140 pounds, Brandy and her sisters all weigh right at 100 pounds.

Macho and Brandy both have champion bloodlines! Some of their ancestors are national and international champions - some of their relatives are from Hungary. Some of their relatives are: UNIVER VAN DE PATERHOEK, TANAKAJD SZEPE FIBRA, THIBOR VD PATERHOEK, TANAKAJD SZEPE OLIVER, TANAKAJD SZEPE OLIVER, TANAKAJD SZEPE VAZUL, RIVERBEND SHERMAN. These puppies have LOTS of wrinkles and NICE blocky heads! Their personalities are guaranteed to be great-just like their Mom and Dad.

All of these puppies are NICE! Check out all the wrinkles......They look like they will have really nice blocky heads and small ears. They are all microchipped. GOOD pictures are hard to take at this age. We will be happy to make more pictures for you on an individual basis.
